Abby Connect pricing starts at $164 a month for 50 Abby Minutes, then $329 for 100, $599 for 200 and $1,380 for 500. Each Abby Minute buys one human minute or two AI minutes. At 200 human minutes, Professional costs $599 against PATLive's $349. At 400 AI minutes, that same Abby plan still covers the full allowance. The right plan depends on both your volume and who answers.

The figures come from Abby's pricing page, read October 25, 2026. Effective rates, upgrade points and comparison bills below are our calculations from the published plan figures. Search snippets and third-party pages still show older prices such as $99 for 50 minutes. The live card reads $164, so do not rely on those older figures.

Abby Connect plans and what each minute really costs

Starter is described as serving small offices catching overflow or after-hours calls. Professional is marked Most Popular. Enterprise is a custom plan without a published price. Here is what each published monthly fee buys when you use the entire allowance.

Abby Connect planMonthly priceAbby MinutesPer human minuteAll-AI minutesPer AI minute
Starter$16450$3.28100$1.64
Essential$329100$3.29200$1.65
Professional$599200$3.00400$1.50
Growth$1,380500$2.761,000$1.38
EnterpriseCustomCustomAskAskAsk

These effective rates are our calculation, rounded to cents. Professional's exact human rate is $2.995, which matters when calculating overage. Essential costs slightly more per included human minute than Starter. Unused allowance raises your effective cost, so the lowest printed unit rate does not automatically mean the lowest bill.

The card lists no setup fee, a free trial on every plan, 24/7 coverage, month-to-month terms, English and Spanish, encrypted call recordings and call blocking. Custom answering hours have no weekend upcharge. The dedicated US-based receptionist team in Las Vegas is human only, as are the HIPAA compliance options. Confirm those options for a medical office rather than applying them to AI coverage.

AbbyGO supports call and text follow-up, and the card lists 1,000+ integrations and an included custom solutions consultation. If your receptionists text callers back, keep a record of text consent for each person alongside your follow-up process. During the trial, check how your staff will review a message and decide who owns the callback.

When an Abby upgrade actually pays

Overage is billed at your plan's Abby Minute rate. That makes exceeding an allowance a calculation rather than an automatic reason to upgrade. At whole human-minute volumes, Essential starts paying above 100 minutes, Professional beats Essential plus overage from 183, and Growth beats Professional plus overage from 461.

At 100 human minutes, Starter plus overage costs $328, one dollar below Essential's $329. Buying Essential simply because you expect 100 minutes would therefore increase the bill. Above that point, compare Essential with your actual Starter overage before moving further up.

Professional becomes cheaper than Essential plus overage from 183 human minutes, even though Essential includes only 100. Growth does not become cheaper than Professional plus overage until 461. At 400 human minutes, Professional plus overage is $1,198, still below Growth's $1,380. These are our recurring-cost calculations using the unrounded plan rates.

Abby says you can move up a plan at any time. Ask how a change affects the current billing cycle and minutes already used before assuming it erases overage. For a law office or home services team, size the plan around calls actually sent to Abby rather than every call reaching the business.

How AI minutes change the Abby Connect bill

Abby's card says, "Double your Abby minutes when you choose AI." One Abby Minute equals one human minute or two AI minutes. For mixed calls, the AI portion bills at the AI rate and the human portion at the human rate. A handoff does not make the entire conversation an AI call.

Abby's own Professional example makes the distinction clear. The allowance covers 200 human minutes, a mix of 100 human plus 200 AI minutes for 300 actual conversation minutes, or 400 minutes entirely handled by AI. All consume the same 200 Abby Minutes.

For a trial or quote, ask for human time and AI time separately. Our conversion is human minutes plus half the AI minutes. Compare that total with the allowance, then apply the plan rate to overage. Do not halve your forecast unless all of those minutes will actually be AI.

The distinction changes the comparison below. Abby Professional costs $1,198 at 400 human minutes with overage, but $599 covers 400 all-AI minutes. Those purchases provide different coverage. Decide which conversations need a human before comparing a mixed or AI quote with another provider's live answering bill.

Abby Connect pricing next to PATLive, AnswerForce, AnswerConnect and Ruby

PATLive is cheaper than Abby at every human-minute volume below. AnswerForce and AnswerConnect also cost less at 200 and 400 minutes, while Abby costs less than Ruby at every row. These are our calculations using the cheapest plan or plan plus overage for the stated volume, rounded to whole dollars.

400$1,198$668$574$575 + $49.99 setup$804$1,725

PATLive's prices were re-read October 25, 2026. Its 100-minute plan is $189, its 200-minute plan $349, and its 300-minute plan $479 plus $1.89 per extra minute. AnswerForce's card, read October 23, 2026, lists Intro at $349 for 200 minutes plus $75 setup, or 300 minutes at $389 plus $1.85 overage.

AnswerConnect's figures were read October 20, 2026. It lists 200 minutes at $350, 300 at $395 plus $1.85 overage, and 400 at $575. At 400 minutes, its alternative is $580 on the 300-minute plan with no setup. Setup charges shown are one-time costs, so compare the first bill separately from later months.

Moneypenny live figures were read October 15, 2026, and Ruby's were re-read October 25, 2026. Read our AnswerForce pricing and Ruby receptionist pricing breakdowns for those cards. The broader answering service cost guide helps compare billing models as well as allowances.

What the Abby card does not tell you

The card does not publish billing increments or rounding. Ask whether each call is rounded and whether transfer time, hold time or work after a call counts. Until Abby answers, raw conversation duration is a forecast rather than a confirmed billed-minute total.

Add-on prices are also absent from the card. Abby's help article on add-on pricing returns 404 as of October 25, 2026. Ask for an itemized quote rather than treating an unavailable article or an older search snippet as a current price.

Every plan lists a free trial. Abby's own comparison page against Smith.ai specifies 14 days or 500 Abby Minutes before you pay. Confirm how those limits apply to your trial and use it to check the human and AI split, follow-up process and actual billed usage.

When a phone system is enough instead of Abby

If your staff can answer and the problem is getting calls to them, Phoner Team costs $17 per user per month billed yearly or $35 monthly. It includes an IVR phone menu, ring groups, business-hours schedules, cell forwarding, voicemail to text, texting and call recording.

Phoner is a cloud phone system, not a live answering service, and has no AI receptionist. It can forward overflow or after-hours calls to Abby or any live service you choose. Our business call forwarding guide explains that routing choice.

Use a live phone answering service when callers need a person your team cannot provide. Compare an after hours answering service for coverage outside your schedule. Phoner does not sign a HIPAA BAA, so a medical office must assess that limitation separately from Abby's human-only HIPAA options.
