AnswerConnect pricing starts at $350 a month for 200 minutes plus a one-time $49.99 setup fee, then $395 for 300 minutes with no setup fee, and $575 for 400 minutes. Larger plans run from $795 for 550 minutes up to $132,950 for 100,000 minutes. Extra minutes cost $2.50 on the smallest plan and $1.85 on the rest, falling to $1.75 from 5,000 minutes. The 300-minute Growth plan is the best value on the whole card, at about $1.32 per included minute.
AnswerConnect does not publish prices on its website. Its pricing page returns a 404 and the plans live in a downloadable plans and pricing guide, which is where every figure below comes from. We read it on October 12, 2026. The bills at real call volumes are our arithmetic on those published numbers, and so is the comparison with three other live services.
How much does AnswerConnect cost?
AnswerConnect costs $350 to $795 a month for most small businesses, depending on whether they use 200, 300, 400 or 550 receptionist minutes. Every plan answers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with human receptionists only. AnswerConnect states plainly that it uses no AI agents. There are no contracts and no notice period.
| Plan | Monthly price | Included minutes | Per included minute | Extra minutes | Setup fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | $350 | 200 | $1.75 | $2.50 | $49.99 |
| Growth | $395 | 300 | $1.32 | $1.85 | None listed |
| Standard | $575 | 400 | $1.44 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 550 minutes | $795 | 550 | $1.45 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 750 minutes | $1,050 | 750 | $1.40 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 950 minutes | $1,325 | 950 | $1.39 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 1,200 minutes | $1,625 | 1,200 | $1.35 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 1,500 minutes | $2,025 | 1,500 | $1.35 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 2,500 minutes | $3,375 | 2,500 | $1.35 | $1.85 | $49.99 |
| 5,000 minutes | $6,650 | 5,000 | $1.33 | $1.75 | $49.99 |
The card continues to 7,500 minutes ($9,950), 9,000 ($11,950), 15,000 ($19,950), 25,000 ($33,150), 50,000 ($66,250) and 100,000 ($132,950), all at $1.75 per extra minute and all close to $1.33 per included minute. The fourth column is ours: the monthly price divided by the minutes. AnswerConnect does not print it.
Which AnswerConnect plan is the best value?
Growth is the best value on the card. At $395 for 300 minutes it works out to about $1.32 a minute, which is as cheap per minute as the 100,000-minute enterprise tier, and it is the only plan that lists no setup fee. It also includes custom scripting and live chat, which the Entry plan does not.
Entry only makes sense if you are sure you will stay under about 218 minutes a month. Above that, its $2.50 overage pushes the bill past what Growth costs outright. A business on Entry that uses 250 minutes pays $350 plus 50 extra minutes at $2.50, or $475, for fewer minutes than Growth gives it for $395.
Standard is a narrow call. If you use exactly 400 minutes, Standard costs $575, and Growth plus 100 extra minutes at $1.85 costs $580. Anywhere below 400 minutes Growth with overage is cheaper, and Standard carries the setup fee. Most businesses between 300 and 400 minutes are better off staying on Growth and paying for the extra minutes.
Does AnswerConnect charge a setup fee?
Yes, on most plans. The guide lists a one-time $49.99 setup fee on the 200 and 400 minute plans and says all of the larger plans include it. The 300-minute Growth plan is printed with "No setup fee". The guide contradicts itself slightly here, because the larger-plans table also says all plans include the fee, so confirm in writing before you sign up for Growth.
How does AnswerConnect bill minutes?
AnswerConnect rounds every interaction up to the nearest minute and bills in one-minute increments. A 61-second call costs two minutes. The first 30 interactions under 30 seconds in each billing cycle are free, which covers a handful of hang-ups and wrong numbers, but not a busy month of them.
Rounding matters more than the headline price. A business whose calls average 90 seconds is billed two minutes for each one, so 100 calls use about 200 minutes, not 150. When you estimate your plan, count calls and multiply by your average call length rounded up, then add a margin for message-taking calls that run long.
What does AnswerConnect include, and what costs extra?
Every plan includes real people answering around the clock, lead capture and qualification, call routing and transfers, on-call scheduling with time-based routing, appointment scheduling into your calendar, caller recognition, spam screening, call recordings, CRM integrations, a desktop and mobile app, notifications by app, email and text, and up to three dedicated business phone numbers. Live chat is included on Growth and Standard but not on Entry, and Entry gets basic rather than custom scripting.
Six add-ons are priced separately, each per month:
- Call transcriptions $30
- HIPAA compliance $40, which AnswerConnect notes cannot be reversed once added
- Live operator relay $40, where the receptionist relays the call details to you live
- Outbound follow-up $20, where receptionists call your leads back to book appointments
- Phone menu routing (IVR) $30
- Spanish call answering $30
The add-ons change the real price more than the plan does. A business on Growth that wants a phone menu, transcriptions and Spanish answering pays $395 plus $90, or $485 a month, before taxes.
What AnswerConnect costs at real call volumes, next to other live services
Here is the cheapest published plan, or plan plus overage, for five call volumes. We assumed two and a half billed minutes per call, because every live service on this list rounds calls up to the minute. Smith.ai bills per call, so its column uses the call count.
| Calls a month | AnswerConnect | PATLive | Ruby | Smith.ai live |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 calls, 100 minutes | $350 | $189 | $395 | $415 |
| 80 calls, 200 minutes | $350 | $349 | $720 | $810 |
| 120 calls, 300 minutes | $395 | $479 | $720 plus overage | $1,125 |
| 160 calls, 400 minutes | $575 | $668 | $1,725 | $1,545 |
| 220 calls, 550 minutes | $795 | $848.50 | $1,725 plus overage | $2,100 |
The pattern is clear. Below 200 minutes PATLive is cheaper, because AnswerConnect has no plan smaller than 200 minutes and PATLive sells 50 and 100. At 200 minutes the two tie. From 300 minutes up AnswerConnect is the cheapest of the four, and its Growth plan is the main reason. Ruby costs the most per minute at every volume and does not publish an overage rate. PATLive figures are its published plans plus its printed overage; Smith.ai figures are its Starter, Basic and Pro plans plus per-call overage. The full rate cards, with the effective cost per minute for every tier, are on our answering service cost page.
Is AnswerConnect worth it?
AnswerConnect is worth it for a business that needs a live person on most calls and uses at least 200 minutes a month. Its on-call scheduling, appointment booking and lead capture are included rather than sold as extras, and its per-minute rate from the Growth plan up is the lowest of the big US live services. A home services company, a law office taking intake calls or a property manager with a maintenance rotation fits that profile. Our HVAC answering service page prices the same choice for a heating and cooling company in a slow month and in a heat wave.
It is not worth it for a business with fewer than about 80 answerable calls a month. You pay for 200 minutes whether you use them or not, so a small office with 30 calls pays $350 for what PATLive sells for $99 to $189. It is also the wrong tool if most callers just need to reach the right person. A receptionist minute spent transferring a call to accounting is an expensive way to do what a phone menu does for free.
Leads are the other thing to plan for. AnswerConnect captures and qualifies inbound leads and sends them to you, but someone still has to work them. If several people share that pipeline, it helps to route every new lead to the right salesperson automatically, so a lead the receptionist qualified at 9 pm does not sit unclaimed in a shared inbox until noon.
AnswerConnect alternatives by price
- PATLive is the cheaper live option under 200 minutes, with plans at $99 for 50 minutes and $189 for 100, and a $49 pay-as-you-go plan at $2.99 a minute.
- Ruby costs more per minute ($250 for 50 minutes up to $1,725 for 500) and includes bilingual answering and scheduling on every plan with no setup fees.
- Smith.ai bills per call rather than per minute ($300 for 30 calls), which suits long calls. Its AI receptionist plan is $150 for 75 calls. Our Smith.ai pricing page works out the bill at 30 to 500 calls.
- A phone system with a menu answers every call instantly and routes it, with no minute meter. Phoner Team is $17 per user per month billed yearly with a three-user minimum, $51 a month in total, and includes the phone menu, ring groups, a business hours schedule and voicemail to text. It is not a live service: nobody talks to the caller, takes a message in their own words or books an appointment.
Many businesses run a phone system and an answering service together. The phone system owns the number and answers with a menu, and only after-hours or unanswered calls are forwarded to AnswerConnect, so the plan stays at 200 or 300 minutes instead of growing with every routine call. Our best answering service for small business comparison shows which service fits which kind of caller.
Frequently asked questions
Does AnswerConnect have a contract?
No. AnswerConnect's pricing guide states there are no contracts and no notice period, and that plans can be changed as your minutes change. The one-time $49.99 setup fee on most plans is the only upfront charge it lists.
What is AnswerConnect's cheapest plan?
The cheapest AnswerConnect plan is Entry, at $350 a month for 200 minutes plus a one-time $49.99 setup fee, with extra minutes at $2.50. It uses basic scripting and does not include live chat. For a little more, the 300-minute Growth plan at $395 includes custom scripting and live chat and lists no setup fee.
Does AnswerConnect use AI to answer calls?
No. AnswerConnect states that it keeps its service human, with no AI agents, and that its receptionists answer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That is a selling point if your callers want a person, and the reason its price per call is higher than an AI receptionist's.
Does AnswerConnect offer HIPAA-compliant answering?
Yes, as a $40 a month add-on. AnswerConnect notes that once HIPAA compliance is added to an account it cannot be reversed. Medical practices should confirm the details of the business associate agreement before signing.
How much does AnswerConnect charge per minute?
Included minutes cost $1.32 to $1.75 each depending on the plan, and extra minutes cost $2.50 on Entry, $1.85 on plans up to 2,500 minutes, and $1.75 from 5,000 minutes. Every interaction is rounded up to the nearest minute.
