What buying GoTo Connect actually involves
There is no published price any more
Every GoTo Connect plan card ends in Contact Sales, and the only price language on the page is the offer of a demo "and a custom quote". Comparison sites that list GoTo at $26 or $27 per user are quoting a card that is no longer shown. At least one of them, getvoip, now says so itself and describes every plan as quote based.
The entry plan is unusually full
The Phone System tier already carries unlimited auto attendants, unlimited ring groups, call queues, recording, SMS and MMS, fax, paging, intercom, hot desking, an attendant console and video meetings for up to 250 people. Most rivals hold some of that back for their middle tier. If you are comparing features line by line, GoTo's floor is high.
Free calls to 50 countries on every plan
International calling to more than 50 countries is included on all four tiers, together with 1,000 shared toll-free minutes. For a US company with staff or customers in Canada, Mexico or Europe, that alone can outweigh a cheaper per-seat price elsewhere. GoTo adds that both allowances may differ by region.
Desk phones come on a rental term
GoTo rents handsets under a separate equipment agreement whose initial term "may only be two, three, or five years" and is set on the sales quote. It renews month to month afterward unless you give 30 days notice, and cancelling within 15 days costs a restocking fee of 25 percent of the equipment's list price. Read that agreement before signing, because it can outlast the phone service you actually want.
The AI features are mostly add-ons
The AI receptionist, sentiment analysis and topic detection are add-ons on every plan. AI call summaries and transcripts are add-ons on Phone System and CX and only included from CX Complete. If the demo leads with AI, ask which of those features are in the quote and which are extra.
